Friends of Tremont Park

In September 2017, NYC Parks released a Request for Expression of Interest for Tremont Park. In October 2017, the New York Times published an article highlighting the opioid epidemic in the Bronx, and more specifically in our neighborhood. Later that month, we partnered with Bronx Community Board 6, Tremont Neighborhood Health Action Center, VIP Community Services, and Partnerships for Parks to host a Daffodil Planting Day, where we organized a group of 30 volunteers to plant 1000 daffodil bulbs. As of result of the community’s interest, we then held our first group meeting in January 2018, where we gathered feedback from the community about Tremont Park.

OUR VISION & MISSION

Our vision is to be a catalyst for the rehabilitation, maintenance, and improvement of Tremont Park and to ensure that the community’s needs and desires for the park are voiced through our group.

Friends of Tremont Park's mission is to connect the Tremont neighborhood through the beautification and activation of Tremont Park.
